A
percentage of all profits generated from Bowden & Levi
Publishing will
help to fund the Mosaic Literary and Performing Arts Center Scholarship Fund
(a 501c3 organization). Our mission is to promote literacy as
well as honing individual creativity which in turn amplifies
intelligence, study skills, and overall self esteem. We want to groom more
of our youth to understand the importance of working hard in
overall academic and creative development which will help them
to be better prepared to pursue top level
business, management, technical, media, and performing arts
careers.
A 3.0 cumulative
college GPA is
required to maintain the scholarship. The students will have
other requirements to make sure they are will rounded such as
community service, volunteering for various charity events,
and attending scheduled meetings with other scholarship recipients
and representatives. Students will also be required to take
certain “well-rounding” courses outside of their major.
Internships will start after the sophomore year, and job
search will begin after the junior year. There will be
seminars on sex education, STD prevention, credit awareness,
family planning and management, resume preparation, budgeting,
etc.
When
an MLPA scholarship recipient enters embarks upon his or her
career they will be a complete
and well rounded individual. Employers will take notice of this
when reviewing resumes and candidates for positions. The
degrees of UK2K students will include anything dealing with
business, management, technology, media, or performing arts. We will also assist students
in receiving their Masters degrees.
Too
many students make it to college and that’s it. A large
number of those who are resilient enough to finish do so with low grades,
derogatory credit from credit cards, owing thousands in
student loans, and with a job that doesn’t pay enough. Our
scholarship fund is not just to get kids "to" college. Our fund
is to get kids "through" college, finding them great careers,
and getting them started in life on the right foot.
